Toners are liquid solutions that are used to produce an image on paper. They are usually made of an organic solvent, such as alcohol, and a coloring agent.

The organic solvent is usually a ketone or ester of some type. The coloring agent is either a dye or pigment. The solvent dissolves the dye or pigment and transfers it to the paper.

Toners can be used for various purposes, such as in laser printers and copiers to produce text and images on paper; in electronics manufacturing to remove unwanted substances from circuit boards; in printing presses to transfer ink onto the paper; and in textile manufacturing for removing excess dye from fabric before dying it with another color.
